What are Open Educational Resources?
Answer
Open Educational Resources (OER) are no-cost, open access instructional materials freely available for educators and students to use. OER can be textbooks, lesson plans, lectures, entire modules compatible with Canvas, quizzes, test questions and more. Often OER are licensed under a Creative Commons open, non-commercial license, however other licenses can offer similar permissions, or OER can exist in the public domain.
The Library can assist faculty identify and adopt OER for course use. Please contact a Research and Instruction Librarian for help finding class resources.
