How can I sign up for SMS text messages to notify me of hold pickups and due dates?

Answer

You can sign up to receive mobile phone text messages in addition to the regular library notices you get via email to notify you when you have items to pick up, when items will be due soon, or if you have items that are overdue. Message and data rates may apply.

To opt in to SMS alerts:

1. Click on the My Account link on the Library website, and log into your account.

2. When the MY RECORD page appears, click on the Modify Preferences link.

3. In the SMS Alerts section, enter your mobile number.

4. Review the terms and conditions, then check the Opt In box and click Submit.

5. You will receive an SMS opt-in invitation message to the mobile number provided. Respond to the SMS alert to enable SMS alerts.

To opt out of SMS alerts:

1. Click on the My Account link on the Library website, and log into your account.

2. When the MY RECORD page appears, click on the Modify Preferences link.

3. Uncheck the Opt In checkbox and click Submit. No changes or deletions need to be made to the mobile phone number in the record.

4. Click OK on the confirmation dialog.

If you are U.S.-based, you can also opt-out from SMS alerts by sending a text message with the word STOP, STOP ALL, END, QUIT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE to 82453 or 35143 from the mobile phone number specified during the opt-in process.
